The status of your motor

When you live in an individual house, villa, or bungalow, there are three possible scenarios: a regular pump motor that pumps water from your sump/underground tank or borewell into your overhead tank (OHT), a pressure motor connected right after your OHT, or only a direct water pipeline from your community/society with no OHT or personal motor. Depending on the kind of motor you have, Aqua Home systems are installed either in the inlet line or the outlet line of your OHT.

Inlet of the OHT

  • If you have just one motor (a regular pump motor) in your home to pump the water from your borewell/underground tank,
  • Aqua Home systems are installed within the pipeline leading to the Overhead Tank (inlet line of the OHT).
  • This way, your bore/sump water is conditioned even before reaching the overhead tank.

Outlet of the OHT

  • If you have a rain shower (or similar high-pressure faucets) fixed in your bathroom(s), it is likely that you will have an extra Pressure Motor attached after your OHT.
  • In this case, the Aqua Home system is installed in the outlet line of the pressure motor.
  • This way, your water is conditioned before reaching the pipelines leading to your bathrooms and kitchen(s).

If you do not have an OHT but a direct water pipeline from your community/society, the Aqua Home system will be installed in the inlet of the main pipeline in your house. The flow rate of water in your home

The most important thing about choosing your perfect Aqua Home system among the three is knowing the flow rate of water in your home. Flow rate is simply the measure of the volume of liquid moving in a certain amount of time, the number of litres of water passing through your pipeline. Each product is designed specifically to handle a different flow rate.

20-35 LPM

Aqua Home 2035 (AC18). If you have a flow rate of 20 to 35 litres per minute in your home, this is the one for you.

35-55 LPM

Aqua Home 3555 (AC34). If you have a flow rate of 35 to 55 litres per minute, this is your perfect choice.

55-80 LPM

Aqua Home 5580 (AC56). If you have a flow rate of 55 to 80 litres per minute, this is your solution.

Important note: a higher flow rate does not mean better water softening. All Aqua Home systems use the same technology and protect you from hard water issues. Who is the Aqua Home system suitable for?+
Aqua Home systems are suitable for anyone who wants to treat hard water in their home with one simple product. If you live in an individual house, villa, bungalow, or a small apartment lesser than 4 stories, then Aqua Home systems are the perfect choice to tackle hard water issues.
What is the difference between AC18, AC34 and AC56?+
All three Aqua Home systems use the same technology and solve hard water issues in the same way. They differ from each other only in terms of flow rate. Choosing the system with the right flow rate for your motor is crucial to get the best product experience. Please note that a higher flow rate does not mean better product performance.
How can I find out the flow rate in my home?+
There are two methods. First, check your motor's label: a regular pump motor or a pressure motor carries a metal label with a number next to Q Max, which is your motor's flow rate in litres per minute. Second, check manually with a bucket: place a bucket of known capacity where the water flows into your overhead tank, switch on the motor and time how fast it fills. 20 litres in 30 seconds is 40 LPM, 20 litres in 15 seconds is 80 LPM, and 20 litres in 60 seconds is 20 LPM. Because flow can drift with the age of the pump and the height of your tank, the manual check is the more reliable one.
I do not have an Overhead Tank in my home. Can I still use this?+
Yes. Aqua Home systems can be used in houses with or without an overhead tank. If you have just one regular pump motor, the system is installed within the pipeline leading to the overhead tank so the water is conditioned before it even reaches the tank. If you have a pressure motor after the tank, it goes in the outlet line of that motor. And if you have no tank at all, only a direct pipeline from your community, it is installed at the inlet of the main pipeline in your house.
I live in an individual apartment in a 3-story building. Can I still use Aqua Home Series?+
If you live in an individual apartment in a multi-story building, the best solution we recommend is the Aqua Bathroom Series, a system designed specifically for flats & apartments. You fix one super small system to the mainline pipes of your bathrooms & kitchen, and all water passing through that mainline becomes soft.
I do not know what kind of motor is in my home. How can I find out?+
If you have an underground tank/sump or a borewell in your house, you likely have a pump motor that pumps water from the ground level to your house's main pipeline. In some cases, if you have a rain shower or similar high-pressure faucets installed, then you will have a pressure motor installed right after your overhead tank and you will be able to spot it easily.
I do not have a personal motor or an overhead tank in my home. What do I do?+
When you live in a gated community or society, your house might not have a personal motor or a tank, because the society usually maintains a huge water storage tank with a massive motor and you receive water through a direct pipeline that leads to your home. In this situation we need to look at many more factors, like how far your home is from the main community motor/tank and your maximum simultaneous water usage, before we can suggest the system that will work best for you. Which Aqua Home Series product will give me the best results?+
All Aqua Home Series systems will give you incredible results in tackling hard water problems, but it is very important that you choose the system suitable for the flow rate you have in your home. Choosing the AC56 is not going to automatically give you the best results if your flow rate is somewhere between 20 and 35 LPM. Please note that a higher flow rate does not mean better product performance.
