Fit and forget, with a simple yearly clean
There are no filters or consumables to replace. After long, continual use the alloy core can pick up a thin layer of sediment, a quick clean restores it. You can do it at home, yourself or with a helper, in about 20 minutes.
What you will need
HCL / bathroom-cleaning acid
Wide cello tape (narrow is fine)
Cotton balls or tissue, to pack the ends
1 litre water bottle
The cleaning process
1 Take the 1 litre bottle of water and pour out roughly 100 ml.
2 Add about 100 ml of HCL / bathroom cleaner into the bottle.
3 Let it settle for 2 minutes, and bypass the water supply.
4 Block one end of the unit, pour in the solution, then block the other end.
5 Let it react with the impurities for 15 minutes (20 minutes maximum).
6 Drain out the solution after no more than 20 minutes.
7 Flush pressured water through one side, under a tap or with a jet spray.
8 The sediments lift away and the surface comes clean, as good as new for another year.
Tip: handle acid with care, wear gloves and eye protection, and keep the area ventilated. If you would rather not do it yourself, ask us and we will guide a local plumber.
